Tenkuu no Escaflowne | The Vision of Escaflowne

I don't require all of the mentioned characters to be present, but the suggested pathway I have is likely to include all three.

I'm fascinated by the magic in Escaflowne. It's there, it gets used, there's entire technologies, like the melefs, that are built around and powered by magic, but there's not a whole lot of explicit worldbuilding around it. (Even when we hear about such masterworks as the Destiny Prognostication Engine, it's more about the effects of what such a thing does, rather than how its constructed.)

I'd like to see a work about Hitomi learning to control her magic, or to try and get a handle on what her magic actually does and the situations where it shows up. She doesn't necessarily have to succeed, and it doesn't have to be in dire circumstances (something like "Merle is hiding somewhere in the castle, and Hitomi is trying to use her dowsing pendant to find her, with Van sent as the person to go check where Merle is" would be just as good as "Hitomi is having trouble tapping the magic during a Zaibach attack and needs to figure out a working context quickly.")

Or Hitomi doing readings for Van, Merle, and/or herself and interpreting the results would be good as well. (Or even a story about the crystal she has and uses.) Something with a focus on the magic will make me happy.

This is a story that I would enjoy seeing the set-up for the situation with the boy and the world. Does it turn out that the boy and the wolf struck a bargain beforehand for the Boy to raise so many false alarms to make it safe for the Wolf to come and eat the sheep? Is this the first time they've run this con together, or are they both practiced hands at it by now? Is the Wolf a shifter, so that they can run a grift together as humans? Was it always people and one just happens to be good at making it look like there's a wolf?

Is it really a fairy tale curse and the Boy can't help to do what he's doing and the wolf takes advantage, or is some entity conjured by the curse because of what the Boy has to do?

Putting a frame around the story that gives it context and transforms it is something I would enjoy seeing with this prompt. Feel free to populate it with other characters as needed.

A properly Pinky and the Brain ploy (poit!) would be perfect for this. Something punny or otherwise humorous is great. If you're looking for a direction, a plot where, in frustration, the Brain decides to do it Pinky's way, no matter how vapid or counterintuitive it seems, and it keeps working up until the inevitable catastrophe (or Brain self-sabotaging because he will not admit to himself that Pinky's plan could actually work) would be a great way to go.

Something I really enjoy about Hilda is the lushness of the world that's there that only comes to the foreground when it's part of the plot as needed. I'd like to have a story that includes a lot of the world around, as experienced and explained by the characters in it. Or maybe they're playing a game of Dragon Panic and telling stories to each other. However it works out, if it's a story that expands on the world that's there, it will be great.

I have looked at this meme (or the "Space Australia" version) with amusement whenever I come with it. I think it's a hilarious idea, that humans are, by galactic standards, adapted for conditions that most civilized beings would find uninhabitable, and behave in ways that don't make much sense (and possibly seem a bit violent at times, even when they aren't.)

The Space Orcs story you have in mind is likely going to be a good one, but if you're looking for direction, it might be worthwhile to have the humans explain sport to the aliens, especially contact sport. I think ice hockey would be a particularly good example to attempt if you are going for this idea.

Epistory - Typing Chronicles (Video Game)

We don't need to couple the protagonist and the fox together for this story, if the idea you have has one or the other and someone or something new.

I really enjoyed playing this game all the way through, learning about the protagonist and their fox (and the chitinous creatures) and how the story, even as it unfolded, was still very vague about what had happened in the world of the game, only making sense at the very end.

If you had a lost chapter from the game, or you followed the story after the end (maybe the protagonist is trying to turn it into a story of their very own?) or we find out the world persists, Narnia-like, after the end of the game and there's another person and their animal traversing the story, or really, anything that might expand the world and the lore of the game and it's place, I'll be happy with it.
