Nominations

Everything in the previous year's Yuletide tagset is already in; if you want to request something that's in there, you do not need to do anything. If you wish to nominate something not in the Yuletide tagset, then you can do so in the Juletide tagset. Nominated fandoms need to have under 1000 works on AO3 that are complete, in English, and over 1000 words long. Each participant will get to nominate 3 fandoms and 4 characters per fandom.

Our eligibility requirements are similar to Yuletide's, but not identical: we do not count FFN. Additionally, things eligible for the prior Yuletide are automatically included in the sign-up options, but they might not be eligible for the next Yuletide due to fandom growth. Please do not treat the ability to request a fandom for Juletide as a sign that it's eligible for the next Yuletide.

To participate, you must be 18+ and an adult in your jurisdiction.

Sign-ups

For at least 3 (and at most 6) fandoms, you must

1. Pick the fandom (fandoms must be unique)


2. Select the combination of characters you want fic of (your author must include ALL of the characters)

If you are okay with only receiving fic with a subset of characters (so you have selected A, B, and C, but would be okay with fic that only has A and B or A and C), you may waive the requirement for the fic to contain all the requested characters by writing so in the optional details box.

If you have DNWs that would ruin a gift for you, please state them in the optional details box. DNWs will not be enforced if:

• They aren’t indicated in the optional details box


• They contradict the requested tags (e.g. requesting character A but DNWing character A)


• They contradict each other


• Avoiding them would require a logic puzzle

If you are given a gift that contains a DNW listed in your sign-up, you are eligible for a replacement. Gifts will be randomly spot-checked as they come in and dealt with if necessary, but should a DNW-containing gift make its way to you, please contact the mod at extrapenguin at gmx dot com. You may also contact me if you suspect (through e.g. tag shaking) that your gift will contain a DNW. In cases where a gift contains a DNW due to unclear phrasing of the DNW, we will err on the side of the author.

Offers

For at least 4 (and at most 10) fandoms, you must:

1. Pick the fandom (fandoms must be unique)


2. Select the characters you are willing to write fic of (you will be matched with someone requesting any subset of the characters)

Fulfilling the assignment

You must write a fic that:

• has a wordcount of at least 600 words,


• in one of the fandoms requested by your recipient (not necessarily the one you matched on),


• that features all of the characters they requested for that fandom, and


• avoids stated DNWs


• is wholly in your own words without use of AI

and then post it to the collection before the deadline of 23 Jul, 23:59 GMT.

If you, for whatever reason, are unable to fulfill your assignment, please press the “default” button on AO3. Your recipient will be sent out to pinch hits.

Pinch hits are unassigned exchange assignments for which the exchange's moderator is looking for someone to take responsibility. A pinch hitter does not have to be signed up to an exchange to take on a pinch hit. Unless otherwise specified, they have the same deadline as other assignments in the exchange and must meet the same minimum criteria.
